Egypt

Egypt is one of the most populous countries in Africa and the Middle East. The great majority of its estimated 77.4 million[1] live near the banks of the Nile River, in an area of about 40,000 square kilometers (15,000 sq mi), where the only arable agricultural land is found.

The large areas of the Sahara Desert are sparsely inhabited. About half of Egypt's residents live in urban areas, with the majority spread across the densely-populated centers of greater Cairo, Alexandria and other major cities in the Nile Delta, Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world's most famous monuments, including the Giza pyramid complex and its Great Sphinx. The southern city of Luxor contains numerous ancient artifacts, such as the Karnack Temple and the Valley of the Kings. Egypt is widely regarded as an important political and cultural nation of the Middle East.

Cairo

Is the foremost capital on the African continent and lies at the center of all routes leading to, and from the capitals of the three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. In Cairo you will never, not even for a moment, feel a lonely traveler!

Egypt's climate, as a whole, can be described as mild. While the midsummer months can get quite hot, the heat is less taxing than else-where because the humidity is low. And for the rest of the year the weather is ideal, the sky sparkling with sunshine, the rainy days few and far between in Cairo, nearly unknown in Upper Egypt, the crisp coolness of the air impregnated by the warmth of the winter

Cairo Weather average comes in March, high of 23°C (73.0 °F) and Low 12.0 °C (54.0 °F) with average perception 0.25 cm (0.10 in).

Shopping

Cairo offers an incredible selection of shopping, leisure, culture and nightlife. Shopping ranges from the famous Khan el-Khalili souk, a bazaar largely unchanged since the 14th century, to modern air-conditioned centers displaying the latest fashions. All the bounty of the East is here: particular good buys are spices, perfumes, gold and silver, carpets, brass and copperware, leatherwork, glass, ceramics and mashrabiya. Try some of the famous street markets, like Wekalet al-Balah, for fabrics, including Egyptian cotton, the Tentmakers’ Bazaar for appliqué-work, Mohammed Ali Street for musical instruments.  And if you don’t want to go so far just visit city stars, Extended on 750,000 sqm and covering an entire city block, this investment of more than 800 Million USD is located only minutes away from Cairo's International Airport. CITY STARS is considered to be the first integrated urban development project of its kind in the Middle East and Europe.

The complex is equipped with the most advanced infrastructure and multi-media network which complement the project's outstanding design elements and customer services including easily accessible indoor parking facilities for over 6,000 vehicles.

CITYSTARS is the latest landmark in Cairo and consists of three international hotels including 1500 room accommodation options, shopping and entertainment centre, office and residential towers

Need a break

If you have time and you will stay after the event  you will need a break from city life, take a trip on the Nile in a felucca or ride on horseback from the Giza Pyramids to Saqqara. For a day trip outside Cairo visit Haraniyya village and see the beautiful tapestries and weaving produced by local people. Visit Kerdasa which is famous for its embroidered cotton and silk dresses (galabeyas) as well as other hand-made products. Or get away from it all at the top of the Cairo Tower, a modern 187 meter-high with views of the city from all sides, topped by a revolving restaurant. Its nice to be up high in Cairo It gives one a prospective view of this great city, with it's very modern and very ancient districts.

Cairo at night

Cairo comes alive at night, the best time to shop, eat delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, or simply watch the world go by from a pavement café. You can dine in a floating restaurant on the Nile, sample a shisha at a coffee-shop or see oriental dancers and cabarets at a luxury hotel. The splendid Opera House complex houses several galleries (including the Museum of Modern Art), restaurants and concert halls. Listening to Arabic Music under the stars, in the open-air theatre, is a magical experience. At El-Ghuriya, in the heart of Islamic Cairo, you can watch folk musicians and whirling dervish dancers. Don’t forget the most essential after-dark experience, the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids, a dramatic fusion of light and music recounting the story of antiquity in different foreign languages.
